In between the baking and catering at Nelson's restaurant this summer, Linda has been performing with the Jody West Band, the cover band she sings with. As she puts it, "I run up the stairs in greasy clogs and a red T shirt that says "Hogs Smell Better BBQ'd" and down the stairs with high heels and tambourines". The band is a six piece swing, soul and rock and roll band where she gets to perform songs from some her favorite artists including Sam Cooke, Etta James and Bonnie Raitt. The players are founding member Jody Westurlund on guitar and vocals, Nick Gori on bass and vocals, Bart Robins on drums and vocals, Linda on vocals and percussion, Mookie Siegal on keyboard and Paul Soroka on Sax and keyboard. They are a spirited bunch of players and a lot of fun to watch so keep an eye on the schedule for them. They do mostly private functions but you can catch them at the Fall "Q Gig on Sept 21st that will wind up the concert series at her folks shop.

Also some good news- Linda's strong passion lies in her original music and she is looking forward to upcoming gigs where she'll perform songs from "Waterdance", "Molasses" and "Wilderness", in addition to some new material. Shows are posted on her schedule. She is also gearing up for an annual winter trip to the French West Indies where she'll perform on the island of St Barths.

Recently Linda was invited to contribute a song to the Tidewater Arts Outreach compilation CD that will be released this Fall. The theme of the CD is kindness and compassion and her song "Wide Open Heart" from her latest CD "Wilderness" will be featured. Linda is real excited about this because the cause is a good one and also this song features long time friend Dave Glaser on guitar as well as Jennifer Smith on Cello. Keep a look out for this.
